As the partial government shutdown drags on, stress can turn into panic. Some families live from paycheck to paycheck, and any hiccup (furlough or otherwise) can be a breaking point. Other people struggle to recover when their stress reliever gets dropped from their own budget—no more gym workouts or Friday Family night at Buffalo Wild Wings can be a big deal.
But for other folks, the furlough spurs a take-charge opportunity. How? Put a great game plan in place that includes temporary work–and a natural support system embedded in that work.
Here at Laborocity, we’ve got your back if you’re out of work temporarily. Exciting, duty-calls opportunities are available during that window. And your team members can become lifelong friends in the process. Become one of our Doers, and you’ll always be busy. Here are some examples, whether your window is one month or three months:
- Amazon-style warehouses where you can drive a forklift, pack boxes, or be a machine
operator. - Hospitality work: Event planning is hard but fun work—a nice antidote to being out of
work temporarily. We need caterers, line cooks, bartenders, utility workers, event set-
up workers. Major event planners also need folks to hand out flyers and other types of
event “marketers.” - Office/clerical: Do you love data entry and a smoothly running office? Many of our top
companies would love to have your skill set. You can get “a foot in the door” there. - Construction & Restoration jobs: If you’re handy or can paint skillfully, we have a range
of teams to plug you in and to learn other crafts. Weather disasters are another ongoing
problem; we have a need for workers skilled in demolition, or specialties like mold
removal or fire and smoke damage.
