Many people are working from the safety of their home; however, warehouse, grocery store, delivery, and some service industry workers are still returning to their place of business day in and day out to perform essential duties. While these people should be celebrated for their dedication to their work, the ability and willingness of employers to mitigate their risk of illness has become a topic of discussion in recent news. In response, many employees across the United States are participating in walkouts and strikes due to mounting concerns over their safety.
Laborocity is different. Laborocity, a leading technology platform that matches companies with temporary workers, puts the safety of their employees first and only places their “Doers” into verified locations that take the proper precautions to keep their workers safe. Laborocity closely monitors CDC updates and ensures their Doers and partner companies communicate standard precautions to avoid confusion and promote transparency.
The following instituted safety measures are paramount to keeping work environments safe and healthy for everyone involved and are what set Laborocity apart.
- Updated Interview and Onboarding Process. Laborocity is continuing to put people to work by utilizing video interviews and virtual onboarding to practice social distancing and restrict person-to-person contact. While our team cannot meet with Doers in person, that has not slowed down our ability to onboard candidates and get them to work.
- Our Warehouse Partners are all GMP Certified Clean Rooms. Due to the production and distribution of food, goods, and medical merchandise, all employees in our partner warehouses work in clean spaces that follow GMP procedures, which are in strict accordance with COVID-19 cleaning recommendations. Our partners are working onsite every day to ensure that these procedures are being followed, which include but are not limited to Cloroxing all table surfaces, time clocks, door knobs, and other heavily touched surfaces, hair net requirements, proper dressing gowns for handling of foods and goods, etc.
- Site Screener Position: Laborocity has been filling the role of “Site Screener,” which further highlights our partners’ compliance with COVID-19 safety regulations and recommendations. The Site Screener role involves taking the temperature of current workers at each site and asking a series of standard COVID-19 questions such as the extent of recent travel, current symptoms, and contact with infected individuals while working at the site.
- Constant Communication. The Laborocity team’s 24/7 customer service is constantly available to address the concerns of their Doers and their partner companies. In addition, Laborocity consistently follows the recommendations made by the Society for Human Resource Management and ensures their Doers and partner companies do as well. This dedication to not only staying up to date with best practices for employee safety and wellness but also consistently communicating it to their workers highlights Laborocity’s dedication to their team, staff, and Doers.
It is Laborocity’s mission to keep people employed during these times of uncertainty, but our true goal is to keep all of our Doers healthy. What sets us apart from other companies is our dedication to the safety of those we help get employment opportunities.
